Sh*ck Call: Canada’s PM Mark Carney Demands Prince Andrew Removed From Royal Succession

Reports indicate that King Charles III had previously stripped Andrew of his royal titles in October due to his controversial association with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Despite losing his titles and royal duties, Andrew remains eighth in line to the British throne.

The British monarch also serves as the head of state of Canada, which is part of the Commonwealth of Nations. Carney, who previously served as governor of the Bank of England, emphasized that although Andrew is far down the succession list, the matter is fundamentally one of principle.

He noted that established procedures exist for removing individuals from the line of succession and suggested that the appropriate authorities should consider initiating such a process.

Under the current order of succession, Charles’s eldest son, Prince William, is the immediate heir to the throne, followed by his children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Carney’s remarks are seen as increasing international political pressure on the British royal household to take further steps regarding Andrew, whose ties to Epstein have continued to cast a shadow over the monarchy’s reputation.

The intervention by Canada’s leader also reflects growing unease among some Commonwealth nations over Andrew’s continued presence in the succession line despite the loss of his royal titles and official responsibilities.
