According to Ireporter Online, the singer revealed in a recent interview with YouTuber Korty EO that his father was strongly opposed to his career choice.

The Sungba crooner admitted that he left home against his father’s wishes to follow his passion. “My dad and I were very close when I was younger. But it got to a time when I wanted to leave home to do what I’m doing now, and my father said ‘No.’ I left regardless,” he said.

In March 2025, Asake’s father had publicly accused him of neglect, sparking widespread attention. Following the backlash, the father and son reconciled, with Asake taking responsibility for his father’s welfare.

Asake also reflected on the challenges he faced with show promoters in the early stages of his career. In an interview with Famous TV, he credited his perseverance and resilience for his rise in the music industry. The singer revealed that promoters initially rejected him because he primarily sang in Yoruba, but he remained committed to his style, expressing gratitude for not having abandoned his roots.
