Tensions escalated when a group of supporters confronted Sevilla’s players and coaching team at the airport upon their return, hurling insults. Other masked individuals were reported to have gathered at the club’s training ground.

La Liga described the behaviour as an “unacceptable crossing of the line of legitimate criticism and sporting expression” and confirmed that authorities will be notified. The governing body also pledged to take further action should similar incidents occur. Earlier this season, fans had attempted to breach the training ground to confront players.
