Wike Appoints New Procurement Aide To Boost Efficiency In Administration

According to Ireporter Online, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has appointed Alhaji Onsachi Musa Idris as the new Senior Special Assistant on Procurement, in a move aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency within the FCT Administration.

The appointment, which took effect on April 24, 2026, came on the same day Idris officially retired from the civil service. Prior to his retirement, he served as Director of Procurement in the Federal Capital Territory Administration, a role he occupied since July 2021.

A statement released on Friday by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, revealed that Idris has built a public service career spanning over three decades, with extensive experience in administration, finance, and procurement management.

Throughout his career, Idris rose through several strategic positions within the system. In August 2019, he was appointed Director of Common Services overseeing procurement matters before being redeployed in 2021 as Director of Procurement. In that capacity, he was responsible for ensuring compliance with due process, procurement regulations, and established administrative guidelines.

His long-standing service record reflects consistent involvement in strengthening procurement processes and improving operational standards within the FCT Administration.

The new appointment takes immediate effect.

In a related development, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dan Ulasi, has expressed concern over the current condition of the party, describing its situation as troubling during an appearance on Arise News.
