Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Orji Uzor Kalu, has revealed that President Bola Tinubu has directed him to oversee and coordinate the activities of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State.

According to Ireporter Online, Kalu made this known in a statement issued on Monday through his Facebook page, where he expressed gratitude to the President for the trust placed in his leadership. The former Abia State governor pledged to collaborate with party stakeholders to strengthen the APC’s structure in the state and position it for electoral success in the 2027 general elections.

He emphasized his commitment to ensuring that the party presents broadly acceptable candidates capable of uniting members and securing victory at the polls. Kalu noted that the directive aligns with efforts to bolster support for the President’s re-election bid while advancing the broader interests of both Abia State and the country.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has faulted ongoing moves by opposition figures to form a coalition ahead of the 2027 elections. Speaking in an interview, Keyamo described the proposed alliance as poorly conceived, raising concerns about its feasibility and the potential complications it could create for candidates contesting various political offices.
