German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has reportedly lodged a complaint with the Carabinieri, alleging that Nigerian international striker Victor Osimhen failed to complete payments for a leased vehicle.

According to Ireporter Online, Osimhen, widely regarded as one of the most formidable forwards in global football, has built an impressive career across Europe, featuring prominently in Belgium, France, Italy, and Turkey. His most notable achievements came during his time at SSC Napoli and Galatasaray, where he secured league titles in both Serie A and the Süper Lig.

During his four-year spell in Naples, the 27-year-old spearheaded Napoli’s historic Scudetto triumph, ending a decades-long title drought and solidifying his status as a modern club icon. His subsequent move to Galatasaray last summer reportedly came with a record-breaking financial package, making him the highest-paid player in the Turkish top flight.

The striker is said to earn in excess of €20 million annually, a figure that aligns with his high-profile lifestyle and philanthropic gestures. Recently, he reportedly sponsored Nigerian fans on a trip to Istanbul for a derby clash against Fenerbahçe, where he also found the net in a 3-0 victory.

However, fresh developments suggest the forward may be facing a legal dispute. Reports indicate that Mercedes-Benz has notified authorities over an alleged outstanding obligation linked to a vehicle leased in 2023, claiming the purchase was not finalized and the car has yet to be returned.

The complaint reportedly places the outstanding amount at approximately €90,000, equivalent to about ₦142 million—an amount considered relatively minor in comparison to his reported earnings.

Osimhen, known for his affinity for luxury automobiles, has previously showcased an impressive collection, including vehicles from Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, alongside a Mercedes-Benz believed to be central to the current dispute.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the player nor his representatives have issued an official response regarding the allegations.
