According to Ireporter Online, the Convener of the League of Northern Democrats (LND), Umar Ardo, has expressed confidence that the registration of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) as a political party may be nullified by the court. He disclosed that the matter is already before the judiciary, adding that he believes the ruling will favour his camp.

Ardo, who is also a prominent promoter of the All Democratic Alliance (ADA), alleged that there were irregularities in the process that led to the registration of the NDC by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He claimed the party’s registration was not properly fulfilled through standard requirements but was instead facilitated by a court order.

“We are in court over NDC irregularities in registration by INEC. The court will cancel the NDC registration,” he was quoted as saying during an interview with an online platform, DCL Hausa.

Meanwhile, former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has explained that his decision to align with the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is driven by his commitment to strengthening democratic governance in Nigeria. Kwankwaso stated that the platform would be used to advance the push for good governance and credible leadership.
