BREAKING: Tinubu Congratulates Garo On New Kano Appointment

President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Murtala Sule Garo following his emergence as the Deputy Governor of Kano State.

According to Ireporter Online, the President’s message was conveyed in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Information, Bayo Onanuga, shortly after Garo was officially sworn in by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. The development comes after Garo’s nomination to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, which followed political realignments within the All Progressives Congress.

His nomination was subsequently ratified by the Kano State House of Assembly, paving the way for his assumption of office. Garo, aged 48, brings a wealth of political experience, having previously served as Chairman of Kabo Local Government and later as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs under the administration of former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje. He was also the deputy governorship candidate of the APC during the 2023 elections.

In his remarks, President Tinubu commended Governor Yusuf for the appointment, describing it as a move that strengthens unity within the APC in Kano State. He called on political stakeholders to rally behind the state leadership, offering the necessary support and cooperation to ensure effective governance. The President further urged the new deputy governor to work closely with the governor in advancing policies that will drive development and progress across the state, while wishing him success in his new role.
