JAMB Announces Mop-Up UTME For Candidates Affected By Technical Glitches

The board disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday through its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, noting that the mop-up exercise is intended for candidates who registered and presented themselves for the examination but were unable to participate due to technical challenges and other related issues encountered during the process.

JAMB explained that the 2026 UTME was conducted between April 23 and 29, 2026, but some centres experienced technical disruptions which affected the ability of certain candidates to complete their examinations.

In the statement, the board said, “The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has fixed Saturday, 13th June, 2026, for the conduct of the UTME mop-up examination for all candidates who presented themselves and were biometrically verified for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination but were unable to sit the examination for one reason or another.”

The examination body added that only candidates already identified and listed by the board will be eligible for the mop-up exercise, while also noting that some results were earlier withdrawn due to examination infractions. It further revealed that a number of candidates who sat for the exam could not be biometrically verified and have also been included in the mop-up arrangement.

Describing the exercise as the final phase of the 2026 UTME process, JAMB said it is aimed at resolving all outstanding issues involving affected candidates. The board urged candidates to begin printing their examination notification slips from Saturday, June 6, 2026, and to confirm their centres early in preparation for the exam.

JAMB further cautioned that there will be no additional opportunity for any candidate to sit the 2026 UTME after the mop-up exercise, urging strict compliance with all instructions.

The 2026 UTME, which held in April, recorded participation from over two million candidates nationwide, with results already released. The board has also maintained a minimum cut-off mark of 150 for universities and 100 for polytechnics, while reopening its portal for course and institution changes as part of the ongoing admission process.
