Segun Arinze, Jerry Amilo React As Hanks Anuku Video Sparks Concern
According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian actors Segun Arinze and Jerry Amilo have reacted to renewed public concern over the health and mental wellbeing of veteran Nollywood star, Hanks Anuku, following the circulation of a viral video online.
The concern emerged after a clip surfaced on Saturday, June 27, 2026, showing Hanks Anuku lying on a road in Wuse 2, Abuja. In the footage, the actor appeared to be speaking to himself while holding a disposable cup, prompting widespread reactions across social media, with many users expressing worry over his condition. Some commenters also speculated that he may have been under the influence of alcohol.
Following the viral spread of the video, Segun Arinze took to social media to clarify that the footage was not recent, describing it as an old recording. In his words, “This is a very old video oo.”
Similarly, Jerry Amilo dismissed the circulating claims, urging the public to refrain from sharing what he termed misleading and harmful content about the actor. He stated, “PLEASE THIS IS AN OLD VIDEO. STOP SPREADING EVIL NEWS AND WISHES.”
Recall that in November 2023, Hanks Anuku had previously opened up about his struggles with depression, linking his past drinking habits to personal challenges he faced at the time. The veteran actor also alleged that some colleagues had attempted to blackmail him, attributing it to jealousy within the industry.
