Mount Zion Film Actor Oyeyemi Reportedly Passes Away

According to Ireporter Online, the announcement of his passing was made public on Wednesday via an Instagram post by the Bowen University Alumni Association.

The association did not disclose the cause of death but described Oyeyemi as a respected alumnus, drama minister, and a man whose life significantly impacted many through Christian ministry.

It further urged members of the alumni community to remember the late actor’s family in prayers, seeking divine comfort, strength, and peace for them during this period of grief. Members residing in Ibadan and nearby areas were also encouraged to attend his burial and pay their final respects.

Burial arrangements indicate that a Service of Songs will be held in Ibadan on Thursday, July 2, while interment is scheduled for Friday, July 3, at the Garden of Saints Cemetery. Attendees have been requested to appear in white attire.

Oyeyemi featured in several productions under Mount Zion Faith Ministries beyond Abattoir, including Fiwajomi, Seyifunmi, Olukoya, and Finding Grace. He was widely known for portraying Christian roles that emphasized evangelism through drama.

His death adds to a series of losses within the Abattoir cast in recent years. In February 2025, actress Toluwalope Adegboyega-Alagbe, who played Flora and acted as his on-screen wife, died following injuries sustained in a road accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in December 2024, a crash that also claimed the life of one of her two-year-old twin daughters.

Similarly, another Abattoir actor, Moses Korede Are, popularly known as Baba Gbenro, passed away in 2024, deepening the series of tragic losses within the film’s cast.
