Yamal Issues Strong World Cup Warning Ahead Of France Battle

Spain youngster Lamine Yamal has declared that the national team will approach their 2026 FIFA World Cup semi-final clash against France with confidence and no sense of intimidation following their hard-fought 2-1 victory over Belgium in the quarter-finals.

According to Ireporter Online, the Barcelona winger, who was named Man of the Match after an outstanding display in Friday’s encounter at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, expressed belief that Spain possess the quality needed to overcome one of the tournament’s strongest contenders when both sides meet in Dallas.

Speaking after the victory, Yamal maintained that Spain respect France’s quality but remain unfazed by the challenge ahead.

“We don’t fear anyone,” the teenage star said. “It’s clear that we are two great teams, world-class national teams, and for me they are one of the best. We’ll see what happens.”

Spain secured their place in the semi-finals thanks to an 88th-minute winner from substitute Mikel Merino after Belgium became the first team to breach La Roja’s defence in the tournament with a goal shortly before half-time.

France head into the blockbuster encounter in impressive attacking form, having scored 16 goals in six matches to emerge as one of the tournament’s most dangerous sides.

Spain manager Luis de la Fuente, who has consistently praised France throughout the World Cup, reaffirmed his confidence in his players’ ability to reach the final despite acknowledging the quality of their opponents.

“We are not finished,” De la Fuente said. “We are pleased to be in the semifinals, but we want more. We are capable of winning this game, and not just now, but I would have said this a few weeks ago as well.”
