Real Madrid have reportedly placed a £137 million valuation on Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior as Arsenal consider making a record-breaking move for the forward.

According to Ireporter Online, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is only willing to sanction Vinicius’ departure if a bid close to the club’s £137 million valuation is submitted, despite the player having entered the final year of his current contract.

The Spanish giants are currently facing uncertainty over Vinicius’ future, with contract renewal talks reportedly at a standstill. Although there is a possibility of losing the forward for free next summer, Madrid are said to be unwilling to reduce their asking price.

Reports indicate that Arsenal are also prepared to make a huge financial commitment to secure the services of the 26-year-old. The Premier League club is reportedly considering making Vinicius the highest-paid player in their history if negotiations progress.

The Brazilian attacker is said to be demanding a weekly salary of around £470,000, which would be almost double his current earnings at Real Madrid. Such a deal would surpass the wages of Arsenal’s current top earners and make Vinicius the club’s highest-paid player.

Any potential transfer would require Arsenal to break their existing transfer record, with both the huge fee demanded by Real Madrid and the player’s salary expectations presenting a major financial challenge.

Vinicius has become one of the most influential attacking players in world football since joining Real Madrid. The forward has recorded 128 goals and 100 assists in 375 appearances for the Spanish giants, establishing himself as a key figure at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Brazilian also impressed on the international stage at the recent FIFA World Cup, where he scored four goals in five matches.

Arsenal remain interested in strengthening their attacking options despite already making additions during the transfer window. However, a move for Vinicius would represent one of the most expensive deals in the club’s history due to the combined cost of the transfer fee and wage package.
