2027: Uba Sani Declares Loyalty To APC, Says He’s Not Focused On El-Rufai, Makarfi Or Sambo

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has said his focus ahead of the 2027 general elections is on strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC), rather than discussing the political influence of former governors Nasir El-Rufai, Ahmed Makarfi and Namadi Sambo.

Saint Janet died on August 1, 2026, following a brief illness whose details were not publicly disclosed.

According to Ireporter Online, funeral activities for the late singer began with a candlelight service, Artists’ Night and Christian wake held on Tuesday at the AIT/Faaji FM premises in Kola Alagbado, Lagos.

The final burial took place on Wednesday at her residence in Abeokuta, where her children, relatives, friends and fellow entertainers gathered to pay their last respects.

Emotional scenes were witnessed during the burial as Saint Janet’s children and other mourners surrounded her remains before she was finally laid to rest.

The development comes shortly after members of the singer’s family opened up about her final moments, revealing that she had complained of chest pain and experienced difficulty breathing shortly before her death.

Three of her children, Omowunmi, Orinayo and Fola Ayilor, recently recounted the events surrounding their mother’s final hours during an interview with Alore TV.

Omowunmi disclosed that Saint Janet had performed at an overnight event in Sango, Ogun State, a day before her death and appeared to be in good health during the engagement.

She explained that the singer returned home after the performance and went to the market the following day, arriving back around 6pm before preparing her own meal.

According to her daughter, it was later noticed that Saint Janet was holding her chest and experiencing difficulty breathing, despite showing no obvious signs of illness earlier in the day.

The death of the veteran musician has continued to generate tributes from members of the Nigerian entertainment industry, with colleagues and admirers remembering her contribution to Juju music and her years of service to the industry.
