One Took Pot, Another Took Chair’ — Aki’s Wife Reveals Actor’s Bachelor Days With PawPaw
The wife of Nollywood actor Chinedu Ikedieze, popularly known as Aki, has revealed that her husband has a longstanding habit of keeping household items for many years instead of replacing them with new ones.
According to Ireporter Online, she made the revelation in a video shared online while describing the actor as someone who is particularly skilled at preserving and reusing old belongings.
She said some of the household items currently in their home have been in his possession for more than 13 years, joking about his reluctance to replace things that are still usable.
“My husband no dey gree buy new things. Una legend, this man sabi save things. Some things in this house have been for over 13 years,” she said.
The actress explained that her husband’s habit of keeping things dates back to his bachelor days, when he lived with his longtime acting partner, Osita Iheme, popularly known as PawPaw.
According to her, Chinedu and Osita had to divide their household belongings between themselves when they were preparing to move out of their shared apartment.
She recalled that the items were distributed among them, with each actor taking different household essentials.
“Before him and Osi (PawPaw) were living together as bachelors, as they were about to move out, they started sharing. One took pot, another took chair, another bed, another kettle, another spoon, even table,” she added.
The revelation offered fans a glimpse into Chinedu Ikedieze’s personality outside the movie industry and highlighted his preference for keeping items that remain useful rather than frequently replacing them.
Ikedieze and Iheme became one of Nollywood’s most recognisable acting partnerships, earning widespread popularity through their appearances together and the nicknames Aki and PawPaw.
Their on-screen partnership remains one of the memorable pairings in Nigerian cinema, while the latest revelation has given fans another glimpse into their early years before fame and their lives as bachelors.
