Our Campaign Won’t Mention Anybody’ — Tinubu Campaign DG Yari
Director-General of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 campaign council, Senator Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar, has said the campaign will focus on the achievements of the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration rather than attacking political opponents.
According to Ireporter Online, Yari made the remarks on Friday in Gusau, Zamfara State, during a consultation meeting with APC leaders and other party stakeholders as part of his mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The former Zamfara State governor said his responsibility as campaign director-general would require him to travel across the country to present Tinubu’s achievements and explain the administration’s vision for Nigeria.
However, he said it was important to begin the mobilisation process in his home state by seeking the support and cooperation of party leaders and stakeholders.
Yari stressed that the responsibility of securing victory for Tinubu in 2027 would not rest solely on the campaign council but would require the collective efforts of APC members across the country.
He said his return to Zamfara was aimed at informing party stakeholders about the expectations of the campaign council and seeking their support for the president’s re-election bid.
Yari said the campaign would be centred on what the APC government had achieved since taking office, particularly in the areas of the economy and national security.
“Our campaign is not to mention anybody. We will mention what we have done for Nigeria, where we met Nigeria economically and where we met Nigeria security-wise,” he said.
The campaign director-general maintained that the election should be approached from the perspective of Nigeria’s interests rather than personal attacks against political figures.
“No individual is before us today. Nigeria is before us as Nigerians. That is the basis of our campaign and how we want the country to look like,” he said.
On insecurity, Yari said the Tinubu administration was committing what he described as unprecedented resources towards tackling terrorism and banditry across the country.
He expressed confidence that the Federal Government would eventually overcome the security challenges confronting the nation.
“I can tell you what is being spent to control the issue of security. It is unprecedented. I cannot believe it,” Yari said.
He further expressed optimism that the administration would succeed in its efforts to combat terrorism and banditry.
“By God’s grace, we are going to succeed, Insha Allah. Bola Ahmed Tinubu will succeed in fighting this insecurity and banditry,” he added.
Yari’s comments come as political parties and stakeholders intensify preparations and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
