Adekunle Gold Opens Up On Davido’s Loyalty, Says Singer Always Stands By His People

Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has opened up about his relationship with music star Davido, describing him as a genuine friend who remains committed to supporting people within his circle.

Adekunle Gold, popularly known as AG Baby, made the disclosure while speaking on the One54 Africa Podcast hosted by Akbar Gbajabiamila and Godfrey Danchimah.

According to Ireporter Online, the singer reflected on Davido’s personality away from the spotlight, highlighting his willingness to stand by friends and associates in different aspects of their lives.

“Davido will ride for anybody he loves,” Adekunle Gold said.

He further described the ‘OBO’ crooner as a genuine person whose support extends beyond the music industry.

“He’s a genuine person who consistently supports people within his circle. And his support goes beyond just music,” he added.

Adekunle Gold also recalled how his friendship with Davido grew stronger following their collaboration on the 2021 hit song, “High.”

According to him, after writing the song, he believed Davido was the right artiste to feature on the track and reached out to him.

He recalled that Davido subsequently travelled to Los Angeles for the music video shoot, where they had a memorable experience together.

The singers have maintained their musical relationship over the years, with Davido later featuring on “Only God Can Save Me,” a track from Adekunle Gold’s Fuji album.

Their friendship has also extended beyond the recording studio, as the two artistes have made surprise appearances at each other’s performances on different occasions.

Adekunle Gold’s comments shed further light on the bond between the two music stars, portraying their relationship as one built on mutual respect, loyalty and genuine support beyond their professional collaborations.
