BREAKING: OK Movement Unveils 59-Member 2027 Presidential Campaign Council

The Obi-Kwankwaso Movement, known as the OK Movement, has unveiled a 59-member Presidential Campaign Council as it steps up preparations for the 2027 general elections.

According to a statement released on Thursday, the council comprises zonal and state coordinators as well as directors overseeing areas including grassroots mobilisation, women affairs, strategy and planning, security, legal affairs, information technology and administration.

The movement, which is supporting the joint presidential ticket of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso on the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), named its Director-General, John Ughulu, as Director-General of the campaign council.

The National Secretary of the movement, Saadatu Sani, is also part of the campaign leadership.

The structure has representatives across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones and the Federal Capital Territory, with coordinators appointed for the 36 states.

The zonal coordinators include Suleiman Abubakar for the North-Central, Hashimu Dungurawa for the North-West, Amadu Gwambe for the North-East, Dr Adebayo Adefolaseye for the South-West, Christopher Ighodaro for the South-South and El-Shaddai Ikeh for the South-East.

Other appointments include Rev. Mike Agbon as Director of Inter-Ethnic Group in Northern Nigeria; Sabo Gashua as Director of Grassroots Mobilisation; Glory Adayi as Director of Women Affairs; Kabir Yahaya as Director of Contact and Engagement; and Abdumumini Tijjani as Director of Mobilisation.

Yusuf Mani was appointed Director of Special Duties, Peace Daful Director of Procurement, Prof. Charles Nwekeaku Director of South Eastern Town Hall and Sunmisola Adebayo Director of Information Technology.

Kingdom Okere was named Director of Legal Affairs, while Abiodun Dabiri will oversee Strategy and Planning. Retired CSP Richard Enemona was appointed Director of Security and Intelligence, while Aisha Abdulrahaman was named Director of Administration.

In a message to the newly appointed members, Sani described their selection as a responsibility to serve and urged them to take the movement’s message to Nigerians across the country.

She said the council would be expected to work from the state level down to local governments, wards and communities, with a focus on grassroots mobilisation, strategic planning and effective communication.

Sani said the movement was focused on what it described as a broader national vision rather than individual recognition, while urging members to approach their responsibilities with discipline, commitment and teamwork.

“Our responsibility is to ensure that the message of our principals reaches every Nigerian and that the voice of the people is heard across the length and breadth of our nation,” she said.

The unveiling of the council marks another organisational step by the movement as political groups continue preparations for the 2027 general elections.
