Thieves Found With Stolen Car In Ogun State
Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested two robbery suspects, Kenneth Akpa and Adebayo Michael, for allegedly stealing a car in Lagos State.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
Oyeyemi explained that the suspects were arrested following information received by policemen attached to the Iperu divisional headquarters.
He added that the police got a tip-off that a stolen Toyota Corolla 2008 model was sighted at a mechanic workshop along the Ogere/Iperu Road, where the suspects were making efforts to fix it.
The police spokesman said, “Upon the information, the DPO, Iperu division, quickly mobilised his men to the scene, where the two suspects were arrested and the vehicle, with number plate, MUS 599 GV, was recovered.
“The owner of the car, James Ushahemba, a resident of Awoyaya, Lagos, was contacted and he came down to Iperu.
“In his statement, he explained that he was attacked in his home on December 20, 2021 around 1.30 am by two armed men.
“He stated further that the robbers robbed him of his Toyota Corolla, three different phones and the cash sum of N30,000 at gunpoint.
“It was the vehicle that was sighted in Iperu through technical investigation.”
The PPRO said the state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, had directed that preliminary investigation be conducted while the case is forwarded to the Lagos State Police Command, where the suspects would be charged to court.
