The legislative branch, including both the House and the Senate, is one of three divisions of government that works in conjunction with the executive and judicial branches.

The Constitution confers on them extensive powers and they are a core arm in the development of a country.

Aside from the major functions of making laws, proper checking on the executive, oversight functions, and constituent functions the legislative arm is the closest form of governance to the grassroots that is represented at the Federal Level.

However, it is unfortunate that some of our revered lawmakers have let the people down when it comes to societal development in their respective constituencies.

It is expected that these people of repute who were graciously elected by their various electorates are required to be at the forefront of agitating for the interests of their constituents.

Across the globe development is not left in the hands of the State or FG alone, the Governors and Federal Government have their parts to play, but in other to accelerate Federal presence in communities the Federal Legislators have a huge role to play.

Etsako Federal constituency in the National Assembly is currently lacking in every single facet. There is a lack of Federal Presence and a slow rate of development due to the lackadaisical approach of its incumbent Reps Member at the Green Chambers.

Constituency Briefing is now apparently a thing of the past, the Federal Legislator hardly visits his constituency to discuss issues that are bothering those who elected him.

It is the constitutional duty of the Reps member to champion the cause of attracting various federal presences to Etsako Federal Constituency.

With apparently no direction from the present lawmaker, there is an urgent need for a pragmatic approach toward electing a credible hand that would adequately represent the people at the Federal Level.

The clamour for the candidacy of Moses Omo-Ikirodah is borne out of the antecedents of the business mogul and philanthropist.

Moses has impacted so many lives through his humanitarian services over the years. His rich network in Abuja and at home would avail him of the opportunity to meet the yearnings of his constituents.

Moses Omo-IKriodah has the capacity to move motions that are of good benefit to the people of Etsako Federal Constituency. No doubt Moses would help formulate laws that would impact positively on the lives of the common people.

It is my hope that the PDP delegates would nominate and support Moses Omo-Ikirodah for Etsako Federal Constituency’s ticket under the party’s platform.

It is time to put an end to the non-chalant attitude of most Nigerian legislators that do not have the interest of the common man at heart. They make promises to people just to get their votes and thereafter turn their backs on men and women who have entrusted them with the task of improving their lives.
