May God Bless Their Soul: Reactions As APC Presidential Women Campaign Team Donates 50M To Flood Victims In Bayelsa
Nigerians are currently experiencing distressing times, with floods destroying numerous homes across the federation; the situation is not only pitiful but also requires the support of all Nigerians.
Yesterday, the APC Presidential Women Campaign Team paid out Fifty Million Naira as a recapitalization fund to help cushion some of the economic effects of the calamity to over 1000 flood victims in Bayelsa state.
The women’s presidential campaign team, led by Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of the APC Presidential Candidate, stated that the visitation was purely humanitarian and had nothing to do with politics and that they took time away from campaign strategies to sympathize with the loving people of Bayelsa.
In addition to the money given, hundreds of millions worth of food and relief supplies were given to thousands of victims. Dr Timipre Sylva, Minister of State for Petroleum welcomed the team and led them around the IDP camps.
The APC Presidential Women Campaign Team has received applause from Nigerians who have been following their movement around flood disaster zones across the federation, donating money and relief supplies.
Here are a few remarks made by Nigerians in support of their efforts.
“May God bless their souls; they have demonstrated to be typical Nigerian mothers who experience the anguish of losing their home and loved ones in a disaster; may God continue to guide and direct them.” Fatima Husseni.
“Oluremi Tinubu and Hajiya Nana Shettima are indeed doing well in their humanitarian efforts in reaching out to flood victims, we need more Nigerians to come to the rescue of these victims, we over here in the diaspora are playing small roles in assisting these people.
Any constructive role, like the one we have seen the APC women perform, must be commended because it demonstrates that we do, in fact, still have love and compassion flowing through our motherland.”-Douglas Tenebe New Jersey.
Ify Amaka said, “This is a commendable gesture by Senator Oluremi and her team, it goes a long way to show that their hearts are full of kindness. May God continue to bless them and repay every penny to the donors.”
