Big Blow As PDP Loses Stalwart To APC In North West State

Alhaji Yusha’u Kebbe, a significant figure in Sokoto State’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), defected to the All Progressives Congress on Friday (APC).

Kebbe announced his defection at a news conference in Sokoto, citing the PDP-led state government’s alleged poor leadership style and lack of people-oriented projects as some of his motivations.

Before making his decision, he stated that he had spoken to supporters in each of the state’s 23 Local Government Areas.

According to him, the majority of his supporters agreed that the PDP governorship candidate fielded for the 2023 election was a part of the current administration in all aspects, and “his emergence is thus a continuation of the administration.”

Some of his supporters had chosen Gov. Aminu Tambuwal as the PDP leader or former Governor of the state, Sen. Aliyu Wamakko as the APC leader, he said, adding, “but I chose the path of Wamakko.”
