2023: See What Appeal Court Just Did To Adebutu, Other Ogun PDP Candidates
The Court of Appeal in Ibadan has reinstated Ladi Adebutu as the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate in Ogun State.
The court also reinstated all other PDP candidates in Ogun by overturning the decision of an Abeokuta Federal High Court, which had declared all PDP primary elections invalid.

Following a suit filed by Segun Seriki and others, Justice Oguntoyinbo declared Adebutu’s and others’ candidacy null and void.
Justice Folasade Ojo ruled on Monday that only the party’s National Working Committee has the authority to nominate and conduct a primary election.
The appellate court held that any primary held without the approval of the party’s NWC is invalid.
The lower court’s decision was overturned due to a lack of jurisdiction.
Ojo ordered that all PDP candidates be reinstated by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
