2027: APC Women In Ireland Rally Support For Tinubu’s Re-Election
According to Ireporter Online, female members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ireland, operating under the Renewed Hope Women’s Network (RHWN), have announced plans to mobilise voters across Nigeria in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The group said the campaign would be driven through an empowerment programme called the “Initiative for Inclusive Grassroots Development and Political Participation,” to be implemented across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Joyce Viyanto Antonza Ibrahim, Convener of the network and leader of APC Professional Women in Ireland, disclosed the plan at a press briefing in Abuja over the weekend. Ibrahim expressed concern over rising voter apathy in recent off-season elections and emphasized that the network aims to reverse the trend through grassroots mobilisation and voter empowerment.
She explained that the initiative will target women and youth of voting age, highlighting that outreach efforts had already begun to encourage broader participation in the electoral process. “We sensitise them on the importance of participating in elections and share the Renewed Hope mandate. We aim to inform voters about the achievements of the President under his current administration and the plans for the next term,” Ibrahim stated.
On whether the initiative has a specific target for votes, Ibrahim said: “We have over 200 million people in Nigeria according to the last census. My grassroots network will contribute all votes from my local government and wards. We will also collaborate with friends and sisters across the six geopolitical zones, including the North West, to mobilise extensively for President Tinubu.”
Ibrahim further described the vision of the network as closely aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing inclusive governance, citizen engagement, and grassroots participation. She noted that her experience in the diaspora informs the network’s strategies, bridging international insights with local action to strengthen political participation.
She also praised Her Excellency Oluremi Tinubu for her advocacy for women’s empowerment and commended the APC National Women Leader for expanding the political space for women across Nigeria.
