2027: APC’s Odigie Says Tinubu’s UK Visit Must Bring Investments Home

According to Ireporter Online, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Emmanuel Odigie, has praised President Bola Tinubu’s visit to the United Kingdom, describing it as a constructive step likely to enhance bilateral relations and deliver economic benefits for Nigeria.

Odigie, speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Thursday, emphasized that such foreign trips should move beyond ceremonial displays to produce tangible outcomes, particularly in attracting foreign investment. He highlighted the importance of implementing signed agreements and memoranda of understanding promptly, rather than leaving them unfulfilled.

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Odigie urged supporters of the president to focus on political renewal, noting that the current administration’s mandate is nearing its end. He called on the government to clearly communicate its achievements and provide compelling reasons for re-election, stressing that Nigerians will expect accountability and visible progress.

Commenting on the UK visit, Odigie said, “The President’s visit to the United Kingdom is a welcome development, and it’s our hope that it will facilitate strong bilateral relations, not just ceremonial gestures. We expect investments to come home, and MoUs to be implemented immediately, so that the benefits are tangible for Nigerians. The mandate given in 2023 is almost expiring, and what we need to hear now is a focus on renewal and what has been achieved.”
