Trump Launches New Warning At Iran

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has warned that the United States could “massively blow up” Iran’s South Pars gas field if Tehran does not cease attacks on Qatari energy infrastructure, escalating tensions in an already volatile Middle East. According to professional reports, the warning comes after a series of strikes on critical oil and gas facilities, raising concerns about prolonged conflict and potential disruptions to global energy supplies.

Crude oil prices surged by approximately five percent following the latest attacks, reflecting investor fears over possible supply interruptions. The Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil transit route handling nearly one-fifth of the world’s crude, has seen slower tanker movement due to concerns over further Iranian attacks, creating additional uncertainty in energy markets.

Iranian forces have targeted Gulf energy infrastructure, including Qatar’s Ras Laffan LNG facility, one of the world’s largest liquefied natural gas plants. The strikes caused significant damage, though Qatari authorities confirmed that emergency crews successfully contained multiple fires. Tehran claimed the attacks were retaliatory, following an Israeli strike on Iran’s South Pars gas field.

In a social media post, Trump denied prior knowledge of Israel’s attack and called for an immediate halt to strikes on both Iranian and Qatari energy facilities. He emphasized that “no more attacks will be made by Israel” on South Pars if Iran stops targeting Qatar but warned of severe military action if Tehran fails to comply.

Reports indicate that US and Israeli operations since February 28 have targeted senior Iranian officials, weakening the country’s leadership. Among the casualties was Iran’s intelligence chief, Esmail Khatib, whose death followed the earlier assassination of security figure Ali Larijani. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian condemned Khatib’s killing as a “cowardly assassination,” while the new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, pledged strong retaliation, stating that “every drop of spilt blood comes at a price.”

The conflict has resulted in widespread casualties across the region. In Israel, an Iranian missile strike killed a Thai foreign worker, raising the country’s death toll to 15. In the occupied West Bank, missile debris killed three Palestinian women, the Palestine Red Crescent Society confirmed. Qatar reported that emergency teams contained fires from Iranian missile attacks, preventing further escalation.

Saudi Arabia has also reported intercepted drones targeting energy facilities in its eastern region, with debris from a ballistic missile landing near a refinery south of Riyadh. Authorities warned that the kingdom reserves the right to respond militarily to such threats.

In Lebanon, Hezbollah has intensified rocket attacks against Israel, prompting Israeli airstrikes on central Beirut. Thousands of residents fled affected areas, including the historic city of Sidon. A local resident described the devastation, recounting deaths among bakers and municipal workers during the strikes.

Amid the escalating violence, French President Emmanuel Macron held discussions with Trump and the Emir of Qatar, urging an immediate cessation of attacks on civilian infrastructure. France’s Foreign Minister, Jean-Noel Barrot, is scheduled to visit Lebanon as a demonstration of support for the Lebanese population. In Iraq, the pro-Iranian group Kataeb Hezbollah announced a temporary five-day pause in attacks on the US embassy in Baghdad, contingent on an end to Israeli strikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs and the cessation of attacks on residential areas. Reports indicate no further attacks on the US embassy during the initial hours of the ceasefire.
