2027: Kano Ex-Deputy Governor Gwarzo Dumps ADC, Makes Bold Political Move

A former Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Gwarzo, has formally resigned his membership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), signaling a significant shift in his political trajectory ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.

According to Ireporter Online, the resignation was conveyed in a letter dated May 1, 2026, and addressed to the party’s chairman in Gwarzo Local Government Area. The correspondence, which was officially received on May 4, confirmed that the decision took immediate effect.

In the letter, Gwarzo explained that his exit from the party followed careful reflection and extensive consultations with political associates, supporters, and stakeholders across Kano State. He noted that evolving political realities at both the state and national levels necessitated a reassessment of his affiliation.

He further emphasized that the changing political landscape required a fresh direction, adding that his decision was driven by patriotic considerations and a desire to align his political path with his vision for good governance, democratic principles, and sustainable development.

Gwarzo stated that his future political engagements would continue to be guided by his commitment to democratic ideals and the advancement of Kano State, although he did not disclose his next move.

Despite his departure, the former deputy governor expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the ADC for their support, cooperation, and respect throughout his time in the party.
