2027 Shock Twist: PDP Courts Jonathan As Obi’s Alleged Comeback Sparks Panic

ACCORDING TO IREPORTER ONLINE, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is intensifying internal efforts to draft former President Goodluck Jonathan as its 2027 presidential candidate.

The party is reportedly offering him an automatic ticket amid growing concerns over Peter Obi’s rumored return to the PDP.

Insiders familiar with the matter revealed that key stakeholders within the party have been mandated to persuade Jonathan to accept the offer, citing his perceived reliability and broader acceptability compared to Obi, whose political intentions remain uncertain.

ACCORDING TO IREPORTER ONLINE, a senior member of the PDP’s Board of Trustees emphasized that Jonathan is viewed as a safer option who would not throw the party into a guessing game.

He stated, “Active consultations are ongoing. The belief, especially among our northern allies, is that bringing Jonathan back to complete his second term will provide strategic advantage and political stability.

While Obi is not entirely ruled out, relying solely on him, given the internal fractures in the Labour Party, is considered risky.”

Furthermore, ACCORDING TO IREPORTER ONLINE, part of the renewed talks to woo Jonathan reportedly took place during a recent high-level PDP meeting in The Gambia, where discussions also touched on campaign financing and strategic party repositioning ahead of 2027.
