2027: Tinubu’s Former Aide Joins Reps Race In Kano

According to Ireporter Online, a former Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Citizenship and Leadership, Nasir Ja’oji, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Tarauni Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.

His declaration was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by his media aide, Abba Anwar.

Ja’oji recently resigned from his position in the presidency following growing pressure and encouragement from his supporters to pursue a legislative role. He made his declaration while addressing a gathering of supporters in Kano on Friday, stressing that his decision was motivated by a sense of duty rather than personal ambition.

He stated that his aspiration was rooted in responsibility, commitment, and sustained engagement with the people as well as the ideals of his political party.

The former presidential aide reaffirmed his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), highlighting his contributions to the party’s growth, unity, and electoral successes across different levels.

He further noted that his experience within the presidency broadened his understanding of governance and leadership, adding that he initiated programmes aimed at promoting civic responsibility, youth empowerment, and leadership development nationwide.

According to the statement, Ja’oji has also been actively involved in youth development and women’s inclusion through various empowerment initiatives.

He assured constituents that, if elected, he would focus on delivering effective representation and ensuring meaningful democratic dividends to the people of Tarauni Federal Constituency.
