Speaking at a thanksgiving service held at the Methodist Church Nigeria, Cathedral of Unity in Wuse, Zone 3, to mark the 80th birthday of former NDDC Chairman Onyema Ugochukwu, Atiku reflected on his journey. He noted that he was the first among his siblings to reach the age of 70, acknowledging God’s faithfulness in his life.

“At 70, I should have had a big celebration, but 2014 was a year of great sorrow,” Atiku said. “I lost my two younger brothers, my father, and my uncle in the same year. There was no desire to celebrate.” He added, “We were seven siblings, but many have passed: my eldest brother at 64, my older sister in her 50s, my younger brother in the war, and another sister, Chinyere, an evangelist, is here today. Ude Chukwu passed in February 2014, and another loss followed in April.”

Atiku expressed gratitude for the support of his friends and promised to continue serving both God and humanity with even greater dedication moving forward.
