Abuja In Sh*ck: NSCDC Officer Executed Inside Hotel

a personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), identified as DSP Adama Adekunle Emmanuel, has been shot dead under circumstances that remain unclear in the Life Camp area of Abuja.

The incident reportedly occurred on the morning of Sunday, August 31, at a hotel where the late officer was said to have been on assignment. His widow, Titilayo Adams, has alleged foul play, insisting that the injuries on her husband’s body did not suggest an accident.

“From his body, we can visibly see gunshots at his shoulders, and nothing strong indicating that it’s accidental fire. They want to cover up what actually occurred,” she claimed, adding that the body was taken to Maitama General Hospital without the family’s consent.

Adams explained that her husband, who had been attached to a politician in the Life Camp area, left home on Sunday morning with plans to return later that day. The family was later informed of his death that same afternoon by a colleague, identified only as Emmanuel. According to her, the colleague claimed the officer had mistakenly shot himself multiple times, though he was not present at the scene when the shooting occurred.

The widow expressed frustration over what she described as three conflicting accounts surrounding the tragedy. “We are told, first, that it was accidental discharge while fixing his rifle. Second, that it was friendly fire and his colleague accidentally shot him. Third, that he shot in the air and the bullet bounced back on him,” she noted.

She lamented the silence of NSCDC authorities, saying the family had received no official briefing. “They said they are coming to see us but to this moment nobody contacted us to brief us about the mysterious incident that led to the untimely death of my husband,” she said.

Adams appealed for justice and support, highlighting the hardship the family now faces. “My husband left behind his parents, two children who resumed school today, and our house rent also expired. They should also take care of his burial rites. I have no job to cater for the children — all I want is justice for my husband,” she pleaded.

When contacted, the FCT Police Command Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, told journalists she would call for confirmation and provide details, but no further statement had been issued as of the time of filing this report.
