The distressing news was first shared by a cousin, Adamu_Asiya_, on January 3, revealing that the sisters’ uncle lost his life during the kidnapping. In a heartbreaking plea, she urged the online community to pray for the safety of Nabeeha and her sisters.

A harrowing update followed two days later, indicating that the father had been released by the kidnappers after a ransom of N60 million was paid. However, the abductors increased the ransom demand to N100 million and set a deadline for payment.

Tragically, the situation escalated further when Asiya, the cousin, announced on social media that Nabeeha had been killed by the kidnappers after the extended deadline passed. The news prompted an outpouring of grief and anger on various social media platforms.

Former media aide to Maj. Gen Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd.), Bashir Ahmad, took to his official social media account to call on the Nigerian Police to prioritize the case. He urged swift action and the deployment of all necessary resources to secure the release of the remaining victims.

Despite the outcry, the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, responded to allegations of police inaction, emphasizing that not all information could be addressed on social media. In a subsequent post, Adejobi urged the family to collaborate with the police, requesting them to contact him personally to provide essential information.
