According to Ireporter Online, popular Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia has called on women in the entertainment industry to embrace modesty in both their dressing and conduct, stressing that such discipline can help strengthen their reputation and earn them greater respect in the profession.

The actress made this known during a recent appearance on the Bold Enough To Say It podcast on YouTube, where she reflected on how female entertainers are often perceived by the public. Etinosa, known for her outspoken personality, encouraged younger women in the industry to maintain decency and professionalism as a way to safeguard their image.

Acknowledging the backlash that sometimes follows honest opinions, she said, “I know Nigerians don’t like being told what to do, so if anyone insults me, I’ll respond. But some truths must be said. The young ladies in this generation need to act and dress modestly so people can respect our profession.”

The actress lamented the stereotypes attached to women in the entertainment scene, noting that many are unfairly labeled or misjudged. She urged her colleagues not to fuel such assumptions through their choices or actions.

“Being a woman in this industry is already hard enough. People say all sorts of nasty things, calling female entertainers names or claiming they use acting or music to cover up questionable lifestyles. We work extremely hard to create our art, and our efforts deserve recognition, not ridicule,” Etinosa stated.

She went on to describe the demanding nature of show business, recounting how crew members often return home at dawn after long hours of work. “Before this show started, I overheard the team talking about shooting till 4 a.m. or 5 a.m., and I told them, that’s the story of our lives. We work tirelessly from morning till midnight,” she added.

Etinosa’s comments have since stirred conversations online about the balance between artistic expression and personal presentation in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
