According to Ireporter Online, the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) has scheduled its governorship primary election in Oyo State for Thursday as part of ongoing preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The party said the exercise is expected to draw members, leaders, and supporters from various parts of the state, with the venue set for the Watershed Event Centre in Ibadan. The primaries will also include the selection of candidates for the Senate, House of Representatives, and the Oyo State House of Assembly across different districts and constituencies.

Party insiders indicated that Abimbola Adekanmbi is likely to emerge as the consensus governorship candidate before the commencement of the primary exercise. According to party leaders, the process reflects efforts to strengthen internal structures and position the party more competitively ahead of the next election cycle in the state.

The event is also expected to attract prominent political stakeholders and observers from within and outside Oyo State, with reports suggesting that Governor Seyi Makinde may be in attendance.
