Akindele Breaks Silence On Viral Pasuma Snub Allegation, Calls Video Misleading

Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has dismissed allegations suggesting she snubbed Fuji music star Wasiu Alabi Pasuma at a recent public event, describing the viral narrative as misleading and taken out of context.

According to Ireporter Online, the controversy began after a short video circulated on social media platform X, captioned to suggest that Akindele ignored Pasuma during a crowded indoor gathering. The clip quickly gained traction online, prompting mixed reactions from users who believed it showed a moment of disrespect.

Reacting to the claims, Akindele firmly denied any form of snub, stressing that she acknowledged and warmly interacted with the veteran Fuji musician at the event. “Snub? Hell no. Stop the negativity pls. I saw him, greeted him, danced with him. Pasuma is my egbon. Pls you all should stop this evil,” she stated.

While the widely shared clip appeared to capture only a brief moment of Pasuma seated and looking at his phone, a longer version of the footage presented a different account, showing Akindele greeting him warmly, exchanging pleasantries, and engaging before moving on to other guests.

The event, held in honour of actress Fathia Balogun, was attended by several notable personalities, including social media influencer Ashabi Olose and other entertainment figures. Additional recordings from the gathering also showed Akindele freely interacting with multiple attendees.

Supporters of the actress have since shared extended clips online, arguing that the viral video was selectively edited to create a misleading impression. The clarification comes amid similar recent online controversies involving the actress, including a separate viral moment with fellow actress Toyin Abraham that also sparked public debate.
