Amaechi Has Character Issues, Can’t Be Taken Seriously – APC’s Joe Igbokwe

Joe Igbokwe, a senior figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, has publicly criticized former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, calling him temperamentally unfit and lacking in character.

In a Facebook post, Igbokwe recounted personal experiences with Amaechi during the 2015 APC presidential campaign in Lagos. He described how Amaechi allegedly clashed with Arewa community leaders and ordered them off the stage at a campaign event, an action they resisted.

Igbokwe labeled Amaechi’s temperament as “very bad” and claimed that if Nigerians had firsthand experience with him, they would not take him seriously.

His criticism follows Amaechi’s recent remarks at his 60th birthday celebration, where the ex-minister claimed that he and many Nigerians were hungry and that an opposition coalition could unseat President Bola Tinubu. Amaechi also remarked on the constant infighting among Nigerian politicians over resource sharing.

Igbokwe’s comments reflect growing internal tensions within the APC, especially as Nigeria looks toward the 2027 general elections.
