Breaking: APC Suspends Lokpobiri—See What Really Happened Behind Closed DoorsThe All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State has suspended several prominent party members, including the Minister of State for Petroleum, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, and 2019 gubernatorial candidate David Lyon. This move comes after accusations of anti-party activities and efforts to divide the APC at the state level.

Naija News reports that two current commissioners in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led Bayelsa State government, who are also APC members, were among those suspended.

Mitin Eniekenemi, the APC leader in Ekeremor Local Government Area, confirmed the suspension of Senator Lokpobiri and Engr. Karin Kumoko, the Commissioner for Power. The decision was based on recommendations from an internal disciplinary committee formed under Article 21.3(1) of the APC Constitution.

In Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, APC officials have also suspended David Lyon, the Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Barr. Peres Biewari, and six others. They face allegations of undermining the party’s interests, particularly during the 2020 Bayelsa State bye-election.
