Ifite Ogbeadiji Ebenesi community in Nnobi, Idemili South Local Government Area, on New Year’s Eve.
The event, which took place at St. Theresa’s field, captivated the audience with a vibrant display of Ndi Nnobi’s rich cultural heritage, drawing attendees from nearby communities and the Diaspora.
The carnival, spearheaded by philanthropist Chief Hamilton Ezeonu, was a significant step toward promoting unity, celebrating local talents, and positioning Nnobi as a rising cultural center within the state. Ezeonu, the CEO of Hamthel Holding and HEX Consulting LLC, USA, and a director at Zybs Medical Group USA, fully sponsored the event to further his goal of fostering peace and love within the community.
“I personally funded this event to showcase Ndi Nnobi’s cultural wealth, celebrate local talents, and foster unity. It’s my effort to place Nnobi on the map and promote peaceful coexistence,” Ezeonu explained. His long-standing philanthropic contributions include empowering over 50 women with businesses, renovating key infrastructure, and improving the community’s security.
Governor Soludo, represented by his Chief of Staff Ernest Ezeajughi, commended Ezeonu’s efforts, linking them to the state’s broader tourism and cultural development agenda, which includes investments in Solution Fun City, Agulu Lake Resort, and the Ogbunike Cave.
The event was also attended by Igwe Nick Obi, the traditional ruler of Nnobi, who emphasized the importance of such initiatives in preserving Igbo heritage and fostering community unity.
The cultural carnival featured energetic dances, masquerade performances, and the presentation of empowerment packages, marking the beginning of a new era for Anambra’s cultural scene.
