Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has expressed his belief that Kylian Mbappe has the potential to achieve legendary status at the club, comparable to that of Cristiano Ronaldo, the club’s all-time top scorer.

Ancelotti stated, “What I wish for Mbappe is that he can accomplish what Ronaldo did at Real Madrid — and I truly believe he has the ability to do so. That would make him a legend at the club, just like Cristiano Ronaldo.”

Cristiano Ronaldo joined Real Madrid from Manchester United in 2009 and left in 2018 as the club’s all-time leading scorer with 450 goals. In his first season with Madrid, Ronaldo scored 33 goals in 35 matches.

Mbappe, now 26, recently scored twice against Leganes in a La Liga fixture on Saturday, expressing his pride in equaling Ronaldo’s goal tally. “We know what he means for Real Madrid and for me. We talk, and he gives me a lot of advice,” Mbappe said during an interview with Real Madrid TV.

With Real Madrid still competing for three major titles this season, Mbappe has ample opportunities to add to his goal count. The team is preparing to face Real Sociedad on Tuesday in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final, holding a 1-0 lead from the first leg played in San Sebastian.
