Annual Meeting Of Alliance Of All APC Women Support Groups Held In Abuja

Abuja, Nigeria – June 26, 2024 – The newly formed Alliance of All APC Women Support Groups (AAAWGS) held its first annual meeting yesterday at the National Center for Women Development in Abuja. This initiative, spearheaded by the National Woman Leader of the All-Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Mary Idele Alile, is headed by Dr. Philomina Abieyuwa Eriyo.

The meeting, attended by national coordinators, directors-general, and CEOs of various NGOs based in Abuja, commenced promptly at 10 AM. The attendees, dressed in attire showcasing the APC colors, were welcomed by the event facilitators and key figures within the alliance.

Dr. Philomina Abieyuwa Eriyo, the head of AAAWGS and Special Adviser to the APC National Women Leader on Women Support Groups/NGOs, highlighted the objectives of the alliance, emphasizing the need for a unified front to address women’s issues and promote the APC’s agenda. “This alliance is a testament to our commitment to empowering women and ensuring their voices are heard within the political landscape,” Dr. Eriyo stated.

Safia Bala, Acting Secretary of AAAWGS, and Dr. Mrs. Mariah Yakubu-Danjuma, Acting Event Director, were instrumental in organizing the event. They stressed the importance of coordination and collaboration among the different groups to achieve common goals

The formation of AAAWGS marks a significant step in the APC’s efforts to strengthen its support base among women and ensure their active participation in the party’s activities and the broader political sphere.
