APC Chairman Yilwatda Jets Abroad For Two-Week Vacation

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has commenced a two-week vacation outside Nigeria.

According to Ireporter Online, the development was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by Yilwatda’s Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki.

Tooki said the APC chairman’s break followed what was described as a demanding first year in office and would provide him with an opportunity to rest, rejuvenate and reflect on the party’s future direction.

The media adviser explained that the vacation would also allow Yilwatda to assess the party’s progress and make further preparations as the ruling party begins positioning itself for the 2027 general elections.

According to the statement, Yilwatda has focused on strengthening the APC’s internal structures and promoting unity among party stakeholders since assuming office.

The APC chairman is also expected to use the period to fine-tune arrangements for the forthcoming retreat of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), where key issues concerning the party’s progress and future electoral strategies are expected to be discussed.

The ruling party, however, assured members and supporters that Yilwatda’s temporary absence would not affect its operations.

The party stated that members of the National Working Committee would continue to carry out their constitutional responsibilities and oversee the affairs of the APC during the chairman’s absence.

Yilwatda is expected to return to Nigeria after the two-week vacation and resume his official duties as the party intensifies preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
