APC Youth Leaders Expose Party Bigwigs Behind Harassment Of Yahaya Bello And El-Rufai

of Yahaya Bello by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a statement released on Tuesday, the APC youth leaders claimed that the former Kogi State governor is facing pressure from top party figures, asserting that the motives behind this action are politically driven.
Representing youth from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the APC Youth Leaders Forum (AYLF) expressed concern that those responsible for the party’s success—particularly in securing President Bola Tinubu’s presidency—are now being targeted with harassment.
The joint statement, signed by AYLF National President Alh Abdullahi Danbaba and National Secretary Dr. Chike Ihedioha, alleged that individuals within the party, driven by ambitions for the 2027 elections, are trying to undermine key figures, including Bello, in pursuit of political power.
The AYLF highlighted that Bello has adhered to the law throughout the ongoing case, noting his accomplishments in Kogi State and suggesting that those using the EFCC against him have forgotten the real targets if the country is to be truly cleaned up.
The youth leaders expressed disappointment that instead of celebrating party members who played significant roles in recent electoral victories, those same individuals are now being unfairly targeted. They also pointed to former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai as another potential victim of this political maneuvering.
The forum called on President Tinubu to take action to prevent these attempts to harm the party, urging the withdrawal of politically motivated corruption petitions against party members from the EFCC, ICPC, and other anti-corruption agencies.
They concluded by stating that the EFCC should be allowed to do its job impartially, without being used as a tool to target perceived enemies within the party.
