Applications Now Open For MultiChoice Talent Factory 2026 Programme

The MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF), a leading Pan-African film and television training institution, has officially opened applications for its 2026 intake. The programme invites aspiring filmmakers, directors, producers, scriptwriters, and storytellers from across Africa to apply for a fully funded, industry-accredited training course.

According to MultiChoice, the initiative, part of the CANAL+ ecosystem, aims to empower young Africans with the technical, creative, and business skills needed to succeed in the global entertainment industry. The nine-month programme combines theoretical instruction with hands-on practical experience through a hybrid learning model that includes both online and intensive in-person training.

MTF currently operates academies in Nigeria, Kenya, and Zambia, serving participants from 14 African countries. The institution provides access to world-class facilitators, professional networks, and real-world production environments to prepare graduates for the competitive film and television landscape.

Since its launch in 2018, MTF has trained 296 filmmakers, with graduates producing over 42 films during the programme. Participant projects are broadcast on DStv and GOtv channels, including Maisha Magic, Zambezi Magic, Africa Magic, and streamed on Showmax. MTF alumni continue to influence Africa’s creative industry, securing roles within the MultiChoice ecosystem, contributing to major productions, or founding independent ventures, with over 50 production companies established by graduates to date.

The programme’s focus on authentic African storytelling has earned international recognition, with alumni receiving nominations and awards at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, Kalasha Awards, Uganda Film Festival, and Women in Film Awards. Graduates also engage with global creative platforms such as the European Film Market and Durban FilmMart, highlighting their ability to compete on a global stage while telling stories grounded in African realities.

Through skill development, industry exposure, and a focus on hyperlocal narratives, MultiChoice Talent Factory continues to foster the next generation of African filmmakers, positioning them as drivers of economic growth, cultural representation, and innovation in the creative sector.
