Former Vice President and 2023 PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has firmly denied rumors suggesting he has resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement released by his media aide, Paul Ibe, Atiku described the resignation claim as false, malicious, and politically motivated. He insisted he remains a loyal and bonafide member of the PDP.

“Atiku Abubakar has not – we repeat, has not – resigned from the PDP,” Ibe stated. “This is nothing but a crude, shameless political hatchet job.”

The statement specifically called out a Facebook page named “Adamawa Happenings” as the origin of the rumour, accusing it of spreading lies orchestrated by “desperate political operatives” seeking to sow confusion and mistrust among Nigerians.

Atiku’s media office urged the public, especially his supporters, to ignore the falsehood, describing it as fake news aimed at misleading and destabilizing the party faithful.

“Atiku remains committed to the ideals of the PDP and the democratic aspirations of the Nigerian people,” the statement concluded.
