Stray Bullet Kills 32-Year-Old Zeyanu Muhammed During Police Raid in Lagos
A tragic incident unfolded in the Gengere area of Ketu, Lagos State, where Zeyanu Muhammed, a 32-year-old man, was killed by a stray bullet during a police operation on Thursday afternoon.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 3:50 p.m. when a tactical team from Area ‘H’ Command in Ogudu, led by ASP Friday Babep, raided the area in an effort to apprehend suspected armed robbers.
However, the operation faced resistance from local hoodlums, who allegedly helped the suspects escape. Amidst the confusion, a gunshot rang out, striking Muhammed in the shoulder and killing him on the spot.
His body has been taken to a public morgue for autopsy, while the officers involved in the operation have been detained for internal investigation.
The Lagos State Police Command has begun reaching out to Muhammed’s family and the local Hausa community to prevent potential unrest. Meanwhile, a manhunt is underway to arrest those who interfered with the police operation.
