Atiku Should Start Preparing For Another Election In 2027 As Usual, Heating Up The Polity Over Pre-election Matters Will Not Make Him President Of Nigeria – Yekini Nabena Speaks

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Yekeni Nabena, expressed his disapproval of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar’s call for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to resign.

Nabena’s statement in Abuja contended that Atiku’s position was premature, as the supreme court has not yet made a ruling on his appeal to invalidate President Tinubu’s election.

He emphasized that Nigerians have moved forward under President Tinubu’s leadership, and Atiku Abubakar cannot reverse that progress.

Nabena argued that Atiku’s claims regarding the authenticity of Tinubu’s Chicago State University certificate are now a matter of the past.

He urged Atiku Abubakar to begin preparations for the next contest in 2027, rather than attempting to pull the nation backward.

Nabena clarified that, contrary to Atiku and opposition parties’ media narratives, the registrar of Chicago State University, Caleb Westberb, never stated that President Tinubu forged the certificate submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Nigeria.

He cautioned the public to be vigilant of manipulative reports from opposition parties that aim to cause confusion and seek public sympathy.

According to the APC leader, Nigeria is a sovereign nation, and until the highest court rules otherwise, President Bola Tinubu remains legitimately elected and will continue to lead the country.

The Bayelsa-born APC leader called on party members, supporters of the President, and all Nigerians to ignore attempts by opposition parties to create unnecessary tension and destabilize the country.

Nabena also brought to the attention of Nigerian Justices and the Supreme Court the contempt of court by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar regarding the ongoing legal matter.

He said: “Let me use this medium to tell the former Vice President to start preparing for another election in 2027 as usual. Heating up the polity over pre-election matters will not make him President of Nigeria.

“Atiku Abubakar should know by now that Nigerians have moved on. The country is now enjoying good governance because this administration is responsive and responsible.
