BREAKING: Senate Summons Wike (DETAILS)

The Senate has issued summonses to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, as well as the Ministers of Health and FCT, Ali Pate and Nyesom Wike, respectively, in response to the tragic passing of Ms. Greatness Olorunfemi at Maitama General Hospital last Tuesday.

Ms. Olorunfemi fell victim to ‘one-chance’ criminals who assaulted her and forcibly ejected her from the vehicle she had boarded on the Maitama/Kubwa Highway.

Despite being promptly taken to Maitama General Hospital by Good Samaritans, she was not attended to due to the absence of a police report.

Expressing deep concern over this distressing incident, the Senate, led by Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, has mandated its committees on health and police to conduct a thorough investigation into Ms. Olorunfemi’s demise and submit their findings within two weeks.

The Senate is also advocating for legal action against Maitama General Hospital on charges of manslaughter.
