Barack Obama’s Personal Chef Found Dead Near Obamas’ Family Home

The personal chef of former United States President Barack Obama was found dead in a lake near the Obamas’ family home in Martha’s Vineyard, a resort community.

Massachusetts State Police confirmed that Tafari Campbell, the Obamas’ 45-year-old personal chef, was the paddle boarder who was seen struggling in the Edgartown Great Pond.

Tafari Campbell had previously worked at the White House and continued to serve the Obama family after the 44th president’s tenure ended in 2016.

In a joint statement, the Obamas expressed their sorrow, describing Tafari as a beloved member of their family, creative, passionate about food, and someone who brought people together. They shared that when they left the White House, they asked Tafari to stay with them, and he graciously agreed, becoming an integral part of their lives.

Authorities began searching for a missing person on Sunday when it was reported that a paddle boarder had disappeared underwater. Tafari Campbell’s body was located using sonar, about 30 meters from the shore and 2.4 meters underwater. Unfortunately, he was not wearing a life jacket. Campbell, who lived in Dumfries, Virginia, had been visiting Martha’s Vineyard at the time of the incident, but the Obamas were not present.

The death of Tafari Campbell is under investigation by the authorities. He is survived by his wife, Sherise, and twin sons.
