IPOB spokesperson Emma Powerful stated that the group was not behind the order, labeling it as illegal and the work of infiltrators based in Finland. IPOB clarified that they no longer declare sit-at-home orders and advised the public to continue with their normal activities.
This clarification follows a viral video by an unidentified man who called for the sit-at-home, claiming it was in preparation for the launch of Biafran armored vehicles. Both IPOB and the Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Kanayo Uzuegbu, have dismissed the video and urged residents to ignore the false information.
Emma Powerful also emphasized that IPOB has moved away from such actions and described those responsible for the video as criminals seeking to cause unrest. The Enugu police, in a statement, reassured the public of their safety and encouraged everyone to go about their daily routines without fear.
