12.5kg Cooking Gas Price Rises to ₦15,552 in August – NBS

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has reported a significant hike in the price of a 12.5kg cylinder of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), also known as cooking gas.

According to the latest report, the average price surged by 69.15% in the past year, rising from ₦9,194.41 in August 2023 to ₦15,552.56 in August 2024. This marks a month-on-month increase of 9.05%, with the price jumping from ₦14,261.57 in July 2024.

The report further reveals that Rivers State recorded the highest average price for refilling a 12.5kg cylinder at ₦17,086.36, followed by Cross River at ₦17,050, and Abia at ₦17,012.52.
